The story goes that the cacique Lempira commanded 30 thousand Lencas and was located in the Congolón area, on the Rock of Piedra Parada. From there, he kept the Spaniards in distress, causing them death and undermining their dreams of conquest.
However, the Spaniards, tired of this war that was dragging on and that they were losing, made Lempira believe that they wanted to make a peace pact and sent two soldiers; one had a white flag and another was behind him who when he could shot him treacherously with an arquebus.
The cacique mortally wounded rolled from the Rock of Piedra Parada and when he was dead, the Indians fled in terror. This is how the Spanish managed to conquer the area.
