How was the Student's Day born in Honduras?

The Student's Day in Honduras is celebrated in honor of José Trinidad Reyes and Sevilla ; precursor and founder of the Autonomous University of Honduras, the first public house of higher education.

June 11 was chosen because this day commemorates the anniversary of the birth of Reyes in the year 1797. He was popularly known for many generations as the "Father Trine" and his student life was framed in reading and the Catholic faith.

José Trinidad graduated with a bachelor's degree in philosophy, theology and canon law and years later, in the year 1820, he was ordained as Subdeacon, at which point he began his life as a priest.

The Student's Day party was established to be celebrated every June 11 in memory of the birth of Kings with a decree of the Governing Agreements of May 28, 1922.
